Run through Southwest Center City—costumes encouraged! This year we’re featuring a Spooky Sprint kids run at 10 a.m in addition to the 5k at 9 a.m. All proceeds go to FoCA to support programming at Chester A. Arthur.

ABOUT THE SWCC 5K RUN

Since 2008, the Southwest Center City 5K Run has served the area as a healthy, community-building event. In addition to hosting hundreds of participants, the event gives back to the community through its non-profit, SWCC Run, Inc., contributing to beautification initiatives. Everyone is welcome to join us by walking, running or rolling in the event!

2015 SWCC 5K RUN SCHEDULE

- 9:00 AM SWCC 5k Welcome and Start
- 10:00 AM Inaugural Spooky Sprint Kids Fun Run (distance ~200m)
- 10:30 AM Halloween Costume Contest and 5k Award Ceremony
- 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Fan Zone open for participants and spectators

RACE FEATURES

• Fan Zone: What's more fun than finishing a race in front of a packed crowd? Invite your friends and family--we will have food, beverages, and entertainment available on the 2100 block of Carpenter.
• Kids under the age of 6 are invited to run the Spooky Sprint. We also continue to welcome strollers in the 5k if your child is too young to participate on his or her own.
• Electronic timing for the 5K , which means faster and more accurate results.
• A Tech T-Shirt is included with every registration! No more throw-away t-shirts.
• A strong group of marshals on every corner to cheer you on and guide you through the streets.
• Multiple prizes to be won including best costume awarded to the best costumed runner!
• Establishment of the SWCC Running Club, which grew organically out of local interest.
• Continued success of our Pre-Run Happy Hour on the Thursday night before the race, from 6-8PM, for cheers and beers with friends, sponsors and organizers.
