Join us for a night out in support of Chester Arthur! This adults only event is our 6th annual silent auction fundraiser where we raised the funds needed to support important academic and extracurricular programming at Arthur while enjoying time with friends and neighbors!
FoCA and CA's HSA will partner to host a back to school "block party" on the Schoolyard. There will be a basketball tournament as well as other activities for littles with help from Playworks!!! Food trucks and treats will be offered in the parking lot area.
After such a successful outdoor cleanup of the Marian Anderson Rec Center, it would be amazing to see another great turnout for an indoor clean up! The wonderful Friends of Chester Arthur have signed on as a partner for this clean up and will be helping to provide volunteers and other needs.
Please join us at 10am on Monday, January 16, for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. We will be tackling things like common use rooms, bathrooms, and hallways. Cleaning supplies will be provided, as well as pizza for lunch. Children are very much welcome.
We also expect to be accepting delivery of our Read by 4th Book Nook provided by the program and the Free Library of Philadelphia. This is an exciting new addition to the rec center and more info will be provided.
There will also be a coordinated effort to make Get Well Cards for the patients of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. A table and art supplies will be set up and monitored by a parent and a grandparent or two, and any children (or adults) can work on their art to cheer up the children at this hospital.
We will also arrange a tour of the new baseball facilities with Coach Steve if you haven't seen them yet.
As with the last volunteer effort, this is a great way to get to know the center, what it offers, its potential, and your neighbors.
Join fellow Little FoCA Parents for a fun (adults only) night at PepBowl!

Come meet your neighbors after work at Julian Abele. We'll bring chalk and bubbles, you BYO picnic dinner and whatever other toys your kid(s) would like to play with!
Members of FoCA and current Arthur parents will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about your neighborhood school. For more information or to share the event with friends, click here.
Come hear about The Arthur Schoolyard, an innovative project that will center on creating an active inquiry-driven learning space for Arthur students and a space where both students and members of the larger community can gather and engage in structured and unstructured play and feel more connected with our neighborhood school. Construction will begin in late June and run through October 2016.
Run through Southwest Center City—costumes encouraged! This year we’re featuring a Spooky Sprint kids run at 10 a.m. All proceeds go to FoCA to support programming at Chester A. Arthur. Sign up now through Labor Day using the promo code Foca2015 for $10 off registration.

Join us for Arthur's Back to School Night for the 2015/2016 school year.
FoCA has hosted two kindergarten playdates over the summer for the upcoming kindergarten class of 2015. Students and their families were able to meet each other and families of students who just graduated from kindergarten at Arthur so that they could share their experiences. Everyone is very excited about the upcoming school year and can’t wait to become a part of the Arthur school family.
Arthur's first open house of the year. Future Open Houses will be held the first Thursday of every month.
